Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas blamed for original De Gea transfer collapse

Image
Source:Giphy Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas is being blamed for David de Gea's dramatic deadline day cock-up two years ago. Real management believe the Manchester United goalkeeper should already be their player after a deal in 2015 fell through in the final seconds of the summer market. A fax machine was blamed at the time for the collapse, but Spanish pundit Eduardo Inda has offered a different version of events. He told  El Chiringuito : "There has been a lot of talk about a fax that night, but Keylor Navas was the man responsible for everything that happened, it was Keylor and his agent. "The agent did everything possible to delay the operation and took hours to return the signed papers. "Navas did not rush until the last moment all his options to stay in Real Madrid, even if it was not cleanly done."

Chelsea join Man Utd in race for Inter's Perisic

Image
Source: giphy.com Chelsea has joined Manchester United in a battle for the signature of Ivan Perisic, according to  Sky Sports Italia. The Inter Milan winger, who moved to Italy from Wolfsburg in 2015, has enjoyed a fabulous season at the San Siro, accumulating 10 goals and 10 assists. The report claims that United have lodged a £ 36m offer for the Croatian, but Inter are believed to be holding off for a figure closer to £ 48m. 28-year old Perisic has a contract with Inter until 2020 but he is reportedly being shopped around, as the Nerazzurri look to refresh their squad for next season.

Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain winks at Liverpool

Image
Arsenal ace Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted his admiration for Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. Oxlade-Chamberlain is being linked with a move to the Reds, where Gerrard is now on the coaching staff. Discussing his new last season wing-back role, the England international told  BT Sport : "I don't know, really. Playing for a team like Arsenal, it ends up being more of a right-wing job. I get the ball from deeper and the plays into my hands more. "At the end of the day, it's given me minutes and I'm not one to complain. "But, the centre mid role... I've always wanted to be Steven Gerrard, so I've still got a hope of that!"

Man Utd, Man City unite to donate £1M to terror attack victims

Image
Manchester United and Manchester City have come together to donate £1 million to the victims of the concert terror attack. They have come together to pledge £1million to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. The rivals have combined to show their support for the city following the tragic terror attack at Manchester Arena on Monday. A joint-statement released on Thursday said that under the banner of #ACityUnited, both clubs will look for ways to continue working together to support victims of the atrocity.

Liverpool legend Souness: Mourinho's team not real Man Utd

Image
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness slammed Manchester United's performance for their Europa League final win over Ajax. It was far from a vintage performance but the men from Manchester got the job done. During Irish station TV3's coverage of the final, Souness said: "This is Man United, one of the biggest names in world football, playing basically lower end of the Championship style football, launching everything. "(United were) very efficient, defended very well. "I suppose the argument would be, if you're a United supporter getting to a cup final, it doesn't really matter how you play, as long as you end up coming home with the cup. "I think they deserved to win it tonight, they had a game plan which wasn't terribly attractive to watch, they worked and stuck to it, and it worked perfectly for them. "They got a couple of goals against a team that had all of the ball, but did nothing with it. They, when they got their chance

DONE DEAL: Tielemans rejects Man City for Monaco in £21m deal

Image
RSC Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans has chose to join Monaco over Manchester City. The Belgian giant's sporting director Herman von Holsbeeck has confirmed the £21m deal, with the youngster set to undertake a medical in the principality later this week. Tielemans has been linked with a move to some of Europe's biggest clubs since April, including City. But the 20-year old have instead decided to join the Ligue 1 champions, which according to von Holsbeeck, has come from Tielemans desire to play regular football. "The transfer fee will be £21m plus bonuses involved," Holdsbeeck told Belgian newspaper  Nieuwsblad . "Medical tests have been scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday. Monaco is the ideal club for Youri. "Youri really wanted to go to a club where the coach would love to work with him. "Last season, he said to me: 'I won't go to Manchester where I am just another number on a list'." Ex-Utd midfielder Hargreaves: Man Utd Europa win is 'destiny'

Image
Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes it feels like Man Utd's 'destiny' to win the Europa League final against Ajax on Wednesday. The current BT Sports pundit was referring to the attacks that occurred at Manchester Arena on Monday, in which 22 people lost their lives. The tragedy, and United's rollercoaster season, is perceived by Hargreaves as an indication that a United triumph is their destiny. "It feels like it is destiny for Manchester United. Everything that's happened, you'd hope they find a way to get a result," Hargreaves said on  BT Sports . "But I think this Ajax team, young, fearless, dynamic, they'll find a way to make this final incredibly interesting. They'll press, plenty of possession. "[But] I just think United with Mourinho will have the ability to find a way to get something that they need and they've done that all season. "This has been their competition all seas

Ajax chief Overmars has pop at Mourinho's Man Utd tactics

Image
Ajax chief Marc Overmars has had a pop at Jose Mourinho's tactics at Manchester United. United and Ajax meet tomorrow night in Stockholm for the Europa League final. Discussing the approach of coach Peter Bosz, Overmars said: "We take a lot of risk and try to make the game. "Most teams dig themselves in and are thinking we'll see how we go. We all know that most coaches think they should close up at the back first to avoid a hammering, before they can do more offensively." Is that too of José Mourinho? "Yes," replied Overmars.

Real Madrid legend Casillas locked in Liverpool contract talks

Image
Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas is in talks with Liverpool. Casillas, currently with Porto, comes off contract next month, though both parties have the option to extend for a further 12 months. AS  says the 36 year-old's agents are in talks with Liverpool, having discussed pre-contract terms during the season just concluded. Casillas has also been linked with West Ham as he considers a move away from Porto. The veteran wants to remain in Europe as he pushes to remain in Spain's squad for next year's World Cup in Russia. Casillas' arrival would add great experience to Jurgen Klopp's squad without appearing a long-term threat to young keepers Loris Karius and Danny Ward.
